When Do Advertisers Validate The Sales?
Every offer may have different validation periods. Some may have shorter validation periods, and some may have longer validation periods, depends on the type of industry.
In most cases, advertisers have a grace period for consumers to return items they have bought as well as a period for any credit card fraud alerts to happen. This protects the advertiser from any losses and abuse from fraudsters, of which in this case conversions that are under this scenario are considered invalid.
Advertisers may take as fast as 14 days and as long as 60 days to validate a sale. However, do take note such a condition DOES NOT apply to any conversion which was marked as "Yet to Consume". Such status indicates that the advertiser has indeed validated the said conversion however it is yet to be finalized. If you are unsure of the validation periods, check the offer status or speak with your affiliate manager about it.
How Is A Lead Validated?
A lead is defined as information that has been gathered from a form. In most cases, an advertiser will define what they consider as a valid lead in a few manners. They are including but not limited to:
- If they satisfy the requirements
- If their number is contactable
- If they’re interested in the product
- If a sale has been generated from the lead
- Or all the above
