1) Why can't I generate a Lazada product link?
Lazada has recently updated their link generation system. As a result, some product links may no longer be available for deeplinking. This change can prevent you from generating certain product links.
2) What is the reason behind some products not being available for deeplinking?
There are a couple of reasons why a product may not be available for deeplinking:
- The product is not commissionable, meaning it’s not part of the affiliate program.
- Due to the introduction of a new tracking method by Lazada, the integration of product information will occur in phases. This is necessary because of the large volume of data involved, and there is currently no defined timeline for completion.
3) I was able to generate the link before, but not now. What happened?
The update to Lazada’s link generation system has impacted the ability to generate deeplinks for some products. If you’re encountering issues, it’s likely due to this system change or above reasons.
4) What can I do to resolve this issue?
If you're unable to generate a deeplink for a product, try searching for a similar item to promote instead. Lazada’s updated system may allow deeplinks for other products within the same category.
5) What will happen to my old links that I posted on my social platforms?
Your old links will remain as they are, but there may be some cases where they no longer work as expected due to changes in the link generation system. You may need to update the links with new ones if they become invalid.
6) I tried generating a similar product link, but I'm still having issues. What should I do?
If you're still unable to generate a deeplink for a similar product, it could be due to specific restrictions within Lazada’s new system.
Do reach out to your account manager or wecare@involve.asia for further assistance or explore other products that may be eligible for deeplinking.
7) What will happen if I am currently using Shoplink? Will the existing links they generated previously still redirect to the same product or store page after the redirection?
The existing links will be redirected to the homepage. We will not be migrating the links generated through Shoplink as we have very few publishers still using it.
8) Will the Shoplink script continue to automatically convert the original product links into tracking links after January 20th?
The Shoplink feature will no longer support the new tracking link method. As a result, Lazada offers will no longer be compatible with Shoplink after this date.
9) I previously generated links via API before the migration, will my existing links still redirect to the same product or store page after the redirection?
The existing links will be redirected to the homepage. We are not migrating links that were generated prior to the migration.
10) If I am generating links via API, will I still be able to generate tracking links after January 20th?
You will still be able to generate links as usual to your desired pages. However, if the product, store, or campaign page is not deep-linkable, you will encounter the same error message seen in the dashboard.
11) I was using datafeeds to generate tracking links, will I still be able to use the same method after the migration?
No, the current datafeed method will no longer be supported. We are actively working with the product team to find the best solution for our publishers.
